Help / FAQ
Do my images get uploaded?
No. Editing and export run entirely in your browser. The only data the service stores is anonymous usage counts (for example, that an export happened and how many regions it had), never image content, file names or text from your images.
Is blur safe for passwords and keys?
No. Blur and pixelation can sometimes be partially reversed or guessed, especially on short strings. Use the solid Cover effect at 100% opacity for anything truly sensitive.
Which effect should I use: cover, blur or pixelate?
Cover (a solid block) for secrets such as passwords, keys, card and account numbers. Pixelate for faces and people in photos. Blur for soft background details where a natural look matters more than certainty.
What can automatic detection find?
Email addresses, phone numbers (international formats, 8 to 15 digits) and any words you list, such as names or order numbers. Text is read on your device with open-source OCR (Tesseract.js); the image is never uploaded. It is part of Pro; new accounts get a 30-day free trial with no credit card. Detection can miss tiny, blurry or stylized text, so always review the result.
Is batch processing available?
Yes, in Pro. Batch processing detects and covers emails and phone numbers in up to 30 images at once and exports them as a ZIP. New accounts get a 30-day Pro trial with no credit card. The free editor handles one image at a time.
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. Create an account with your email and a password and you get 30 days of Pro. No card is asked for and nothing is charged when the trial ends; your account returns to the Free plan.
Does the exported file contain the original?
No. Exports are flattened images re-encoded from the edited pixels. Original layers, recognized text and source metadata (EXIF) are not copied.
What are the limits?
BlurTool accepts PNG, JPG or WebP images up to 20 MB, 8000 px per side and 40 megapixels.
Which keyboard shortcuts exist?
Ctrl/Cmd+Z undo, Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redo, Delete removes the selected region, Alt+drag pans the canvas, Ctrl/Cmd+V pastes an image from the clipboard.
